Upon being hit a player is to call "hit" stop moving, put their hand in the air, and wait for another player to tag them back into play as a member of their team. If team members split up or lose track of each other, it's very common for confusion to occurr due to players being unaware of the others team allegiance.
All in all this is a usefull game for when players still have ammo, energy and it's unnecessary to waste time staging, otherwise the refferee may simply be feeling sadistic. It goes to show that pacing yourself and your ammo consumption can be important.
